I am an old customer of Lan Sheng restaurant.Everytime I go to Lan Sheng I always like to order these three dishes.
The first one is Kongbao chicken: diced chicken sautéed with peanuts and little red pepper, chicken taste elastic and peanuts taste very crispy,The ingredients and taste mixing pretty good, not very spicy little a bit sweet,I always can eat two bowls of rice.
The second dishes is cellophane noodle with mince pork,in Chinese we call it Ants on tree, name very funny. It's sautéed with special brown sauce,I think chef also put little a bit vinegar in it,that's why every time I eat this dishes always feel very appetizing.
The third one is peppercorn spicy whole fish,You know what I am the person who really like spicy,If you are same like me,please don't miss this dishes,This one can make you feel more happy and very excited,Specially the peppercorn,If you feel tired and unhappy today, just order this fish, remember to order coke or Tsing Tao as well. -

Good place for affordable lunch
They offer lunch special around $10
It include soup or spring, and rice or fried rice
And choice of the main dish.
Today we got

Great place for large group meals and some no frills Chinese food.
The ox tongue and tripe was a great starter and the standard must-get Szechuan dish. One order wasn't enough for 7 people so we ordered another. The chongqing braised fish was also one of the favorites. Everything else was also decent, I wouldn't say there was any one mind-blowing dish, but overall a solid experience.
We also brought a cake for my friend's bday and but they didn't put any effort in helping serve it. They basically brought out the cake in the box, I unpacked it and they gave us a knife to cut and serve it ourselves, so don't expect any extra service. -

The best Sichuan dishes I've had for quite a while in NYC. Better than those newly opened restaurants in flushing. They occasionally have some new dishes that really surprised me in a good way. Highly recommended!

I have been in ny for 9 years. Tried hundreds of Chinese restaurants. THIS IS MY FAVORITE AMONG ALL! My favorite dish is the Green Pepper Steam Fish! And the Sichuan Cold Noodle is also a must order!!! The ingredients are so fresh and the flavor is just authentic! If you want to taste authentic Chinese food. Lan Sheng is a no brainer! And they are Michelin one star restaurant!!!! The most amazing part is the price is very inexpensive! I would say around $20/person. Service is definitely also a Michelin star level. People there are very friendly and sweet! I go there every week. Peter, the owner is a very sweet guy!
